An attempted robbery was foiled on Thursday afternoon (30 March 2023) at Pep Stores on Allen Street, Newcastle. The incident occurred around 2 pm, when a group of men entered the store, brandishing firearms.
Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team’s Imran Ghafoor reported that the suspects attempted to rob the store but fled the scene soon after entering. Ghafoor commented, “They must have felt something was wrong and got disturbed, because after entering the store, they decided to flee the scene.”
The suspects are believed to number between three to four men, and no injuries have been reported. Law enforcement is currently on the hunt for the suspects.
