Vehicle crashes down embankment on Allen Street, Newcastle

Vehicle crash Allen Street Newcastle

A Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal motorist crashed down an embankment just after the traffic lights on Allen Street near Pine Junction just after 10 am. While the motorist sustained minor injuries, according to a source on the scene, she was travelling along Allen Street, headed towards the Road Traffic Inspectorate offices when the incident unfolded.

The source further said that while the motorist was driving along the street she went through a large pool of water currently on the left-hand side of the road. This resulted in her losing control of her vehicle, veering off the road and hitting a tree at the bottom of the embankment.

“An ambulance arrived at the scene and treated her, before taking her to hospital. Fortunately, she did not sustain serious injuries,” said the source.

If you are travelling in the same direction, be sure to do so with caution.
