The result of a violent crime was found on Monday morning, 27 February 2023, following the discovery of a body at the corner of Memel Road and Gemsbok Avenue, Hutten Heights.
With the case now under investigation, Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, Lizzy Arumugam explained that the body was discovered by a community member at 6:15 am on Monday morning, on the sidewalk next to Grace Community Church.
With the Newcastle SAPS attending the scene, Arumugam confirmed, “The victim had a stab wound to the neck.”
However, the motive behind the stabbing remains unclear at this time with no arrests being confirmed as yet.
