Misunderstanding sees mother and son stabbed to death in Northern KZN

Prison Prosecuted Jail

After nearly five years of intensive investigations, the Osizweni SAPS has ensured that justice prevailed after a brutal stabbing left a mother and her son dead.

Discussing the case, Osizweni SAPS spokesperson Captain Sipho Nkosi explained that the murder took place on 13 March 2018. “The double murder took place due to a misunderstanding between the suspect and the deceased 34-year-old male. The suspect accused the deceased of puncturing his vehicle’s tyres and an altercation broke out between the two,” said Captain Nkosi.

During the altercation, the suspect proceeded to stab the victim to death. During this time, the victim’s mother attempted to defend her son. Unfortunately, she too was stabbed to death.

With the suspect apprehended shortly afterward, Captain Nkosi explained how the double-murder case was sent to Madadeni Court.

Moreover, the investigations and the case waged on throughout the year resulting in sentencing finally being achieved.

“The suspect was sentenced to life imprisonment for the double murder of the victim and his mother. This sentencing was largely due to Constable F Nkosi of the Osizweni SAPS Detective Unit who put in great work and dedication, seeing the sentencing take place,” told Captain Nkosi.

As the man now prepares to serve his prison sentence following the tireless efforts of the Osizweni SAPS what are your thoughts on this?
