Yet another vehicle swept away at Amcor Dam, Newcastle

Amcor Dam, flooding, Motorst,Toyota Tazz, Newcastillian News

It is baffling to think that various Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal residents continue to ignore road signs and barriers, choosing rather to drive over the extremely flooded Amcor Dam bridge. As one could expect, this has yet again resulted in another vehicle being washed away.

According to local law enforcement, the small Toyota Tazz was swept away by the raging waters on Monday morning, 13 February 2023, shortly before 11 am.

Law enforcement on the scene further explained that the motorist had been travelling from the Riverside Industria, heading towards the Newcastle CBD.

“While we don’t have much information on the motorist, we were told by witnesses the occupants of the vehicle managed to escape,” explained a police official.

A full investigation into the matter will now be conducted by the Newcastle SAPS and plans to recover the vehicle, and track down its driver are currently underway.

As police now prepare to recover the vehicle, while searching for the driver, law enforcement continues to insist that you do not cross the gushing waters.

People that drives through flooded bridges are simply retarded and don’t deserve any mercy or even allocation of resources to save them. They do it deliberately to get attention
