According to reports a Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal resident, Johannes Nelson Madlala, was shot and killed in Germiston, Johannesburg.
The exact circumstances around Johannes’s unfortunate demise are currently unclear, however, Renegades Search and Rescue explained that he was last seen on 18 January 2023. On the said day, he was driving his white Nissan bakkie from Newcastle to Pretoria.
At 8:30 pm that night, he contacted a family member to advise them that he was in the vicinity of Germiston. After that, no further information was received, resulting in his family, becoming concerned.
The matter was then reported to the SAPS, whereafter law enforcement began the search for Madlala which involved organisations such as Renegades Search and Rescue.
After two weeks of relentless searching, Razia Cassim from Renegades Search and Rescue Newcastle explained that Madlala was unfortunately found deceased. While it hasn’t been divulged where his body was initially found, Cassim said his family identified him at the Germiston morgue.
According to Cassim, he was allegedly murdered on the day he went missing. She added that Madlala was allegedly shot and killed for his bakkie.
