Motorists intending to travel along the R103 between Ladysmith and Colenso be warned, the road has been closed due to protest action.

Protestors have closed the road with burning tyres and other debris, seeing traffic not able to gain access to the road.

The irate protestors are allegedly demanding access to water, as their taps have apparently been dry since November 2022.

While it is not clear when the road will be cleared, Road Angels Traffic Information has stated that the road is closed at Estcourt and has urged residents to seek alternative routes.

Law enforcement is at the scene, maintaining a watchful eye over the situation.

While it is unclear when the road will reopen, what are your thoughts on the above-mentioned? Share your views in the comment section below.
