A 65-year-old woman was found murdered in her two-room home on Tuesday night, 10 January 2023.
According to police, the elderly woman was allegedly last seen alive and well on Friday, 6 January 2023. However, when neighbours noticed the woman was nowhere to be seen afterwards, they began to grow concerned.
By Tuesday, neighbours could no longer maintain their anxiety and went to the woman’s home at approximately 7.30 pm. It was then that they made the shocking discovery.
The 65-year-old was found dead, her face horribly swollen and bruised, and her bedroom ransacked.
The police were then contacted and began investigating the scene and surroundings. However, no witnesses were found to assist in tracking down the culprits involved in the killing.
Osizweni SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Sipho Zulu explained that the deceased lived entirely on her own and the police were scrutinising the case carefully.
“At this point in time, there are no arrests, and the identity of the suspects are unknown. The Osizweni SAPS is following up on all information, and we cannot yet provide a motive for the murder.”
