A local drug dealer, carrying a sizeable sum of the society crippling whoonga as well as antidepressants, will now sit in custody until his court appearance. This is all thanks to dedicated law enforcement agents.
If you are not familiar with whoonga, here is a description sourced from Wikipedia;

“Whoonga (also known as nyaope[1] or wonga) is a form of black tar heroin, sometimes mixed with other substances, that came into widespread use in South Africa in 2009. Its use is concentrated in the impoverished townships of Durban, although it is supposedly appearing in other places in South Africa as well.[2]
Whoonga dealers will often sell the drug as a super-powerful marijuana blend. Dealers add powdered substances to the mix to bulk up the size, profiting more from the sale of the diluted drug. Additives range from actual pharmaceutical drugs and cleaning chemicals to any powder-based substance that can be found. Whoonga/nyaope is very addictive because of its heroin content as well as the uncertainty of the type of cutting additives.[3] Whoonga is sometimes said to contain antiretroviral drugs.

Receiving information regarding the dealer on Christmas Day, Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team member, Imran Ghafoor explained that the middle-aged man, who did not attempt to run when approached, had 325 parcels of whoonga and 115 anti-depression tablets on him.

Placing him under arrest, the Madadeni SAPS confiscated the illegal substances and detained the dealer.
Ending, Ghafoor complimented local law enforcement on their dedication. “The police are making a lot of arrests and doing good work.”

    We really need to ask how many addicts are there out there, buying these goods. The new Mayor needs to invest in larger Rehab facilities for our youngsters. And to provide more work and recreational opportunities to keep youngsters off the streets. And clamp down on Taverns and shebeens.
    How many of our children’s lives have to be snuffed out before the politicians do something?
