Two people were critically injured and four more seriously injured on Tuesday night, 13 December 2022, following a head on collision on the R34, not far from Lenjanedrift in the Vryheid area.

While the exact circumstances surrounding the accident are unclear, KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service spokesperson, Chantell Botha explained that upon arrival at the scene, paramedics found themselves facing a daunting task before being able to treat the injured people.

“Paramedics, together with KwaZulu Private Rescue teams, extricated the entrapped patients using specialised rescue tools,” said Botha.
