A burning home lit up the night sky on Cerise Street in Lennoxton, Newcastle on Wednesday night, 19 October 2022.
According to the Newcastle SAPS, the fire started at approximately 8.30 pm, with the flames spreading throughout the house in a matter of minutes. The SAPS additionally said that no injuries were reported during the incident and that they were now conducting an extensive investigation into the fire.
However, while the reason behind the house fire could not be confirmed at this stage, the Newcastle SAPS affirmed that they have a potential suspect in sight. The suspect’s identity has been disclosed to Newcastillian News, but cannot be divulged at this point due to police investigations being ongoing.
