KZN Legislature visits healthcare facilities

Due to the deplorable state of public healthcare facilities across the province, the KZN Legislature conducted oversight visits throughout the various districts in KwaZulu-Natal from 5 October 2022 to 6 October 2022.

According to the entity, the program was aimed at looking at the functionality of healthcare facilities in the province and the challenges the said facilities faced.

The KZN Legislature team therefore made its way to the Amajuba District Municipality on Wednesday, 5 October 2022, with the District Mayor, Cllr Vuselwa Bam, and  Speaker, Cllr Zulu joining the officials to participate in the monitoring program.

Despite the Newcastle and Madadeni Regional Hospitals playing a vital rolewithin the community, the Legislative team made its way to the Osizweni Number 3 Clinic.

Discussing the issues with the medical staff and interacting with the community, the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature stated that it would compile a report after these visits and an action plan developed to attend to some of the challenges discovered.
