The two law-enforcement teams conducted a mass stop and search operation in Ezakheni, outside of Ladysmith, KZN—holding vehicle checkpoints, as well as cordon and search operations in different sections of Ezakheni.
SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basheer Khan said, “Several vehicles, premises, and persons were searched. A 41-year-old suspect was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, and a 31-year-old suspect was also arrested for being in possession of drugs.”
The two suspects now face charges and as I one could expect, both are expected to appear in Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court.
With the joint operation reaping positive rewards and ensuring illegal firearms, ammunition and drugs were removed from the community, what are your thoughts on the above-mentioned?
