The South African Police Service (SAPS) made a gruesome discovery on Sunday afternoon, 21 August 2022 in Newcastle, KwaZulu-NatalThis followed the SAPS locating the body of an unidentified man in the Ngagane River, running alongside the Madadeni Road.

Police sources claimed that the SAPS received a call at approximately 12.30 pm after a community member reported that they had seen the body in the river.

As a result, law enforcement rushed to the scene, with the Newcastle Search and Rescue Unit called to assist in retrieving the body. After searching the waters, the deceased was found with broken bricks tied to his body and his hands tied behind his back. 

However, the exact cause of the man’s death is still unclear at present, but Newcastle Police are currently investigating the matter.
