Electrical disruptions are expected to hit parts of Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal on Friday, 28 July 2022, leaving residents and businesses in darkness.
This follows the Newcastle Municipality issuing a statement regarding an electrical disruption that will take place from 8 am until 4 pm on Friday.

Moreover, the government entity’s Communications Unit explained that the disruptions will be due to maintenance repairs on the Central B-substation with the following areas impacted:
- Arbor Park
- Newcastle Central
- Newcastle Mall
While the Newcastle Municipality stated that it regretted the inconvenience caused, it warned Newcastillians in the affected areas to treat all electrical installations as live for the duration of the interruption.
