In what can only be described as “lucky”, three people narrowly escaped certain death, following a head-on collision between a car and truck on the N11, just outside of Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal.

Responding to the call just after 7 pm, KwaZulu-Natal Private Ambulance affirmed that three people were injured during the incident.

According to the spokesperson for the company, Craig Botha, while the exact circumstances around the collision are unclear, it is speculated that the car’s driver might have fallen asleep behind the wheel.

Furthermore, of the three injured, two sustained minor injuries, of which, one was the driver—with the third passenger suffering serious chest injuries. “The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment,” stated Botha.
