The bodies of two men were discovered on Wednesday morning, 13 July 2022. According to reports, the pair was found stoned to death with cement blocks.

Newcastle SAPS Spokesperson, Lizzy Arumugam explained that the grisly discovery was made at 2 am on Wednesday morning, between Section 3 and Section 4 in Madadeni, KwaZulu-Natal.

With Madadeni Detectives now investigating two counts of murder, Arumugam said, “The Community Service Centre received a call from a person, who reported two men lying on the street.”

Sector Team members were then dispatched to the scene, where they found the two men’s bodies.

“Near both the deceased, there were broken cement blocks, which were used to stone the deceased. There was also a black label can,” Arumugam added.

Both victims were 30 years old.

At this stage, Arumugam affirmed that it was unclear how many people were involved in the murders and that the SAPS are not currently aware of the motive.

However, while no arrests have yet been made, Arumugam said police investigations are underway.
