Much to the surprise of Osizweni, KwaZulu-Natal residents, on 1 July 2022, a man’s charred remains were found on live wires at a local power station.

The spokesperson for Osizweni SAPSCaptain Sipho Nkosi explained that the deceased severely burned body was trapped on top of the power station, situated in Section F, Osizweni.

“It is suspected that the man allegedly intended to steal cables from the power station, when he was killed by the electricity,” Captain Nkosi pointed out.

Additionally, the Captain stressed that the SAPS urges people to avoid tampering with essential infrastructure and cables. “We are warning the public, that tampering or stealing cables could lead to death.”

In addition to the dangers linked to cable theft, and criminal implications, use some common sense.
