Home invaders tie up victims in Schuinshoogte, Newcastle

A Newcastle couple found themselves enduring a traumatic experience after their home was invaded by two men in the early hours of Saturday morning, 18 June 2022.

Spokesperson for Newcastle SAPS, Lizzy Arumugam explained that at 2 am on Saturday morning, the two perpetrators forced their way into the couple’s home in Protea Avenue, Schuinshoogte. This was achieved by bending the spare room’s windows burglar guards.

She further pointed out that the men were wearing dark clothes, neck masks, hats, and gloves on their hands.

Armed with a revolver, Arumugam added that the suspects then tied their victims’ hands up behind their backs. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

“The suspects took jewels, cell phones, and cameras.”The men then made their escape and according to the Newcastle SAPS, “The suspects are still at large. Police investigations continue.”
