Five people were injured and one person killed in two collisions along the R34 on Thursday, 16 June 2022.
Taking a look at the first case; on Thursday morning, at the Blood River Crossing, Vryheid area, a truck and car collided.
Spokesperson for KwaZulu-Private Ambulance Service, Craig Both explained that unfortunately, a person sustained fatal injuries and passed away before Emergency Services arrived. The second patient was found with serious injuries and was treated on the scene, before being rushed to hospital for further treatment.
Following the above collision, KZN Private Ambulance Service found themselves rushing to a collision on Thursday evening on the dreaded R34, this time near Lenjane.
“When emergency services arrived, they found that two vehicles had been involved in a collision,” Botha said.
While no one passed away at this incident, Botha pointed out that four people sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.
“The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment,” he explained.
