Newcastle suburbs experiencing water supply issues, what you need to know

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

While loadshedding has taken a backseat, for the time being, several Newcastillians will have noticed issues with their water supply on Thursday, 9 June 2022.

This follows the Newcastle Municipality issuing a notice, stating that four suburbs will be experiencing either no water or low water pressure from 8am on Thursday morning. This is due to the installation of bulk flow meters.

The areas that are currently experiencing issues with their water supply due to this work are as follows:

  • Ncandu Park
  • Amajuba Park
  • Sunny Ridge
  • The lower part of Pioneer Park

With little to no water expected throughout the day, the government entity’s Communications Unit said, “Water tankers will be used to provide relief during the said period. Councillors are urged to contact the Call Centre for water tanker requirements.”

Water reticulation is expected to resume from 5 pm on Thursday afternoon.
