Two dead after truck smashes into construction workers on Majuba Pass

Two people have died, and two were left injured, following a horrific collision on the Majuba Pass on Tuesday morning, 24 May 2022.

Spokesperson for KwaZulu Private Ambulance, Craig Botha explained that KZN Private Ambulance responded to reports of a collision on the N11, Majuba Pass.

Upon arriving on the scene EMS found that a “truck had lost control and collided with road construction vehicles and workers.”

Furthermore, Media Liaison for KZN EMS, Robert McKenzie added that the collision involving three trucks saw paramedics from KZN EMS, KZN Private Ambulance and other emergency services joining hands to assist the injured.

“Tragically, two people have sustained fatal injuries in this crash,” McKenzie said. The two people had succumbed to their injuries, dying before emergency personnel arrived.

However, Botha pointed out that paramedics found that there were two patients who had survived the horrific crash. One of the individuals had sustained serious injuries, while another sustained minor injuries.

“The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment,” Botha said.

  1. I drive that pass at least once a month, people do not slow down! Trucks drive as if they are Ferraris! No fear or road rules.
