Seven people narrowly escaped certain death when the vehicle they were travelling in veered off an embankment on the Enyathi road, just outside Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal.
Craig Botha of KZN Private Ambulance explains that EMS arrived on the scene just after 8 pm on Wednesday, 6 April 2022—only to find a vehicle filled with people off the road.
“It is still unclear what exactly happened, but the motorist allegedly lost control of the vehicle while travelling along the road,” Botha says.
After losing control, the vehicle, with seven occupants, came to a grinding halt after cruising off an embankment. Botha points out that two of the seven sustained severe injuries, while the remaining five escaped with minor injuries.
After seeing the patients and ensuring they were stable, KZN Private Ambulance transported them to the hospital for further treatment.
This accident is a stark reminder to take it slow, drive safe and realise that Northern KwaZulu-Natal does not have great roads. Therefore, the road will always win no matter what car you drive.
Travel the speed limit, buckle up and think.
