3 die in a head-on collision between near Waterval turn-off

Sadly, three people were killed in a head-on collision on Saturday afternoon, October 23, 2021. After a truck and a car crashed near the Waterval turn-off on the Madadeni/Osizweni Road.

According to a source, the truck was en route to Utrecht while the car was heading towards Newcastle. The vehicle burst into flames following the crash, with the truck’s front end also catching alight.

Emergency services dispatched to the scene reported that the automobile had burned up in a matter of minutes. As a result, the three occupants died on the scene. Fortunately, the truck driver was able to flee his vehicle and avoid catastrophic injuries.

At the moment, the reason for the crash is unknown, but authorities are investigating.
