Two collisions leave three dead and six injured

Sadly, three people died on the R61 at the Ramsgate off-ramp on the South Coast on Wednesday morning, 22 September 2021.

Responding to the scene, KwaZulu Private Ambulance stated that two vehicles had a head-on collision. This resulted in one of the vehicles catching alight.

Paramedics determined that three occupants had sustained fatal injuries, sadly succumbing to their injuries.

According to KwaZulu-Private Ambulance, thanks to towing services quick action, they could keep the flames from spreading. Moreover, the team held down the fort until Fire and Rescue services arrived.

Due to the damage to the vehicles, rescue services used specialised rescue tools to free the deceased occupants. The cause of the collision is unknown, but the SAPS is currently investigating the matter.

In addition, on Wednesday morning, KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service attended another collision at the junction of the R34 and R33. This collision involved two bakkies that had collided.

The patients were treated for minor to severe injuries before being transported to the hospital for further treatment.
