SAPS offers R20 000 reward for locating suspect

KwaZulu-Natal Police are offering a R20 000 reward in locating 28-year-old Sizwe Madoda Shelembe/Thabethe.

Discussing the matter, Colonel Thembeka Mbele explains that officers from the Political Task Team are investigating a murder case from 31 August 2020, where three people were shot and killed while in a vehicle at Pieters area Ezakheni (25km from Ladysmith).

“The deceased were identified as Mncedisi Dladla, Dima Dladla, and Nompumelelo Thwala. Charges of murder were opened for investigation at Ezakheni SAPS.”

The docket was then transferred to the Political Task Team for investigation, which led to the arrest of five accused, Lethukuthula Khumalo, Sabelo Madlala, Sandile Sibonelo Madlala, Thabiso Nkosi and Siyabonga Sikhakhane, all of whom were charged with murder and attempted murder.

“The accused were remanded in custody until 27 August 2021 in the Ezakheni Magistrates Court,” states Colonel Mbele.

However, the detective team is appealing to the public to assist in locating Sizwe Madoda Shelembe/Thabethe. “A warrant for his arrest was issued by the court, and a reward of up to R20 000 has been offered to anyone who may have an information that will lead to his arrest.”
